Tyson Fury’s newborn baby taken back into intensive care as he asks for prayers
Tyson Fury has revealed his newborn baby daughter Athena has been taken back into intensive care as the world heavyweight champion asked fans for their prayers.
The self-styled Gypsy King posted a picture of baby Athena hooked up to wires in hospital to his Instagram story.
He captioned: "Baby Athena is back on ICU please keep her in your prayers."
Fury's wife Paris gave birth to Athena on Sunday morning, but she was immediately taken to ICU and placed on a ventilator.
Her condition was later described as stable and Paris thanked the public for the well wishes.
She wrote on Instagram: "Thank God she's doing well.
"And thank you for all your messages, thoughts and prayers."
Fury's latest update comes after he and Paris had asked fans to pray for Athena immediately after the birth.
He wrote: "Please can everyone pray for my baby girl who was born this morning. Athena Fury born 8/8/21. Thanks. God is great."
Athena is the Furys' sixth child and third daughter after Venezuela, 11 and Valencia Amber, three.
Their three sons are Prince John James, eight, Prince Tyson II, four, and one-year-old Prince Adonis Amaziah.
Fury raced back to the UK for the birth following a period of isolation after testing positive for Covid-19 after the virus tore through his US training camp.
It forced the delay of his hotly-anticipated rematch with Deontay Wilder.
