Tyson Fury’s baby back in intensive care as he asks “keep her in your prayers”
Tyson Fury has asked fans to keep his newborn daughter Athena "in your prayers" after she was rushed back into intensive care, just a day after her condition was confirmed as stable.
Fury and wife Paris' sixth child was born on Sunday at Liverpool's Alder Hey Children's Hospital, but was quickly hurried into intensive care and put on a ventilator.
A day later, the heavyweight world champion shared a video on Instagram and shared some good news with his followers: "Hi guys, the baby's doing fantastic, a lot, lot better. She's off the ventilator, she's doing really good, look, she's lovely."
However, Athena's condition has since worsened and Fury took to Instagram earlier today to share an update with his 4.4m fans.
"Baby Athena is back on ICU," Fury said.
"Please keep her in your prayers."
Athena is currently being treated at the Ronald McDonald House, part of the Alder Hey Hospital.
Fury reportedly rushed back to the UK for the birth of his sixth child, having previously been training in the US for his upcoming fight against Deontay Wilder.
However, following his positive test for COVID-19, Fury was forced to dash back to the UK in order to quarantine so he could make Athena's birth in time.
To support the Liverpool hospital, and thank them for their efforts over the past few days, Fury has set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for the Alder Hey Family House Trust.
The fundraiser has already raked in nearly £30,000, well over halfway towards its £50,000 target.
One generous donor has given £10,000 to the cause, while John Fury also donated a significant sum to the page.
Athena is Fury and wife Paris' third daughter, after Venezuala, 11, and Valencia, 3.
The couple also have three boys: Prince John James, 8, Prince Tyson II, 4, and Prince Adonis Amaziah, 1.
