Tyson Fury warns Dillian Whyte of ‘annihilation’ ahead of a rumoured fight

It is looking like there's a good chance that the much-anticipated fight between champion Tyson Fury and his mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte is getting the go-ahead.

The final deadline for the pair to agree on whether the fight will take place is set for Friday, January 28. But things are looking likely to go ahead after Fury called out Whyte on social media.

There is still a bit of confusion about the fight with a rumour circulating that Fury could actually schedule a brawl with WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.

Usyk has been pitched to scrap with Brit Anthony Joshua for some time after the Ukrainian robbed him of his belts in a thrilling fight last year.

It has been reported that Joshua is likely to activate a rematch clause in his contract that will see him fight Usyk again.

However, following news that two reigning champions might instead prefer a bout with one another, rumours circulated wildly that Whyte and Joshua may be paid huge sums of money to step aside and let the belt holders have it out in an undisputed title brawl.

But now, following Fury's call-out of Whyte, it is looking likely the original battle between the two Brits is back on.

There is not currently a confirmed date for Fury to fight Whyte.

The Mirror reported on January 6 that, according to promoter Frank Warren, Fury will head out into the ring next on March 26, although this date is confirmed and it is not clear who will be standing across from him.

Issues beforehand had been ongoing about the purse the two fighters were set to get, with Whyte reportedly being set to receive 20%.

Fury Vs Whyte location

The most likely venue is thought to be either Cardiff or Manchester, but there is no confirmation either way at the time of writing.

Fury hasn't fought in the UK since 2018 when the 6"9 man mountain took down Sefer Seferi.

Fury Vs Whyte 'annihilation' trash talk

Speaking on Thursday January 27, Fury said: "Who else can't wait for the fight? The best of Britain.

"I can't wait to punch Whyte's face in!

"I'll give him the best hiding he's ever had.

"Whyte, train hard! Because you are getting annihilated."

Frank Warren, Fury's promoter followed up saying: "The heavyweight king has spoken."
