Tyson Fury once claimed oral sex was key to developing strong jaw for fights
Widely renowned for having one of the biggest mouths in boxing, Tyson Fury's active jaw may in fact be the secret to his success.
A recent sixth-round knockout win over Dillian Whyte improved Fury's record to 32-0-1 as he extended his undefeated reign as WBC and 'The Ring' heavyweight champion. The 33-year-old has since insisted he's set for retirement, having earned recognition as one of the best fighters of his generation.
But smack talk isn't the only form of exercise 'The Gypsy King' advocates in order to keep himself in top condition. It's not just the man on the heavyweight throne who stands to profit, either, after Fury once revealed a part of his training that should benefit his wife, Paris, as well.
Deontay Wilder came closest to overcoming Fury's nigh-impenetrable defence as he floored the Mancunian en route to a controversial draw when they first met in December 2018. And it was just prior to their rematch in February 2020 that Fury shocked reporters with his claim that oral sex had become a prominent part of his regime.
“I have got confidence in my chin but I’ve been doing a lot of p***y licking to strengthen my jaw up," he said during a press conference at the time. It's up for debate as to whether the practice has any actual performance benefits, but it doesn't appear to have hurt Fury considering he's won three in a row since then.
One would at least assume childhood sweetheart and partner Paris acts as Fury's training partner of choice. However, the Gypsy King did claim in the build-up to his recent bout with Whyte that he'd "had sex with over 500 women," suggesting he may have sparred in other camps over the years.

Never one to be abashed regarding his high libido, Fury also said in 2020 that he doesn't always need a partner to get a spot of training in. But it wasn't shadow boxing the 6'9" star was referring to when he went into detail about his solo sessions.
“I’m masturbating seven times a day to keep my testosterone pumping," he added. "Pump it, pump it, pump it, pump it up! Don'tcha know! I gotta to keep active and the testosterone flowing for the fight. Don’t want the levels to go down.”
The boxing world lies in wait for an official decision on Fury's retirement, with the fighter yet to relinquish his WBC belt despite suggesting he's set for the exit. And while his talents inside the ring will be sorely missed when he does depart, it's Fury's lip service outside of it that the sport will arguably miss just as much.
