Tommy Fury to fly to Miami for showdown talks with Jake Paul
Tommy Fury is ready to confront Jake Paul at his gym in Miami as he plots showdown talks with the YouTuber.
The undefeated boxer, who has five wins so far, has been involved in several exchanges with Paul on social media.
Fury, who is the half brother of heavyweight champion Tyson, is out in Dallas supporting Billy Joe Saunders ahead of his fight against Canelo Alvarez in Dallas.
But he now believes the constant jibes between himself and Paul means they have to fight.
He told Boxing Social : “At some point [I believe we will cross paths], yes I do.
“There’s been too much said now back-and-forth not to fight.
“I’ve come out and said I will fight tonight. I don’t care when it is, where it is, I’ll fight him in his back yard, I don’t care.
“He’s nothing to me, he’s not a fighter, he’s a YouTuber. If I was to fight him, I’d just go over there and take the complete p*** out of the man.
“It wouldn’t even by a one-round job, I’d practice my skills on him. He is what he is, isn’t he? I wouldn’t even have him as a sparring partner.”
He and Tyson are planning to stop off at Paul's Florida gym before they return to the UK.
The 21-year-old has told the American, who recently beat former UFC star Ben Askren, to make sure he's present.
“I’m taking a flight out to Miami with Tyson after the fight, I’m gonna swing by his gym, see what he’s saying," said Fury.
“And we’ll see whether he’s got a lot to say then, face-to-face, which I don’t think he has.
“If I’m in Miami, I might as well drop by. So make sure you’re in the gym Jake Paul.”
