The bout was set to take place atop the Burj Al Arab hotel, where Anthony Joshua has previously held a workout
But the Daily Mirror have reported that the fight has now been called off as talks have broken down between both parties.
Mayweather is still hoping to arrange an exhibition bout but a replacement opponent is yet to have been found.
The 44-year-old in a press conference last month said he intended he would be doing a ‘special limited edition’ boxing showcase at the Burj Al Arab later this month.
Roger Federer and Andre Agassi have also taken part in a tennis match on the hotel’s helipad
He said: ‘It’s always been a goal of mine to come to the UAE and put on a show and display my talent for the people in the Middle East.’
Mayweather added: ‘We may do more than one fight, we wanna give the people some entertainment.
‘I don’t like to call what I’m doing a fight, I like to call it a limited edition boxing showcase. it’s bigger than just boxing.’
Money Kicks, whose real name is Reshad Belhasa and is from Dubai, confirmed a match between the pair was close but is now likely to accept another fight when Tam Khan’s Social Knockout promotion returns later this year.
Mayweather has not fought since his exhibition bout with Logan Paul in June 2021
Mayweather couldn’t come to terms with YouTuber Money Kicks over an exhibition bout
It would have been Mayweather’s third exhibition bout since retiring from professional boxing with an unblemished 50-0 record.
He comfortably beat kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa on New Year’s Eve in 2018 – dropping his opponent three times before the fight was stopped.
Mayweather last fought Logan Paul in the summer last year, with the American YouTuber having a 35lb weight advantage.
Since it was an exhibition bout under different rules, no judges were scoring at ringside and the fight ended with no winner declared.
