Ricky Hatton "feels like knocking Jake Paul out" after Canelo Alvarez comments

Ricky Hatton has criticised boxer Jake Paul, labelling him as a comedian following his comments about challenging Canelo Alvarez in a boxing match.

Writing in his column for the Metro, Hatton slammed Paul and believes the YouTuber-turned-boxer wouldn’t last against world champion Alvarez.

Paul had bigged himself up earlier this month, saying he would “eat you (Alvarez) alive” in response to a tweet, while also saying he can be a world champion within the next five years.

Though Hatton is having none of it, writing in his column: “I was listening to more b*****t from this Jake Paul.

“The interviewer turned around and said what he has done in the ring speaks for itself.

“He’s boxed another f*****g YouTuber, a basketball player and an MMA fighter.

“What he has done in the ring speaks for itself?

“Is he taking the p**s here?

“Paul said he doesn’t see why he can’t be fighting Canelo for the WBC belt in five years. Never mind a YouTuber, this fella is a f*****g comedian!

“I feel like knocking him out myself!'

Hatton didn’t stop there, writing that nobody in the world of boxing could take Paul seriously.

Do you think Ricky Hatton's comments on Jake Paul are fair? Let us know in the comments below.

He thinks that Paul garners attention in boxing mainly for what he says, rather than what he does.

Hatton added: “What [Anthony] Joshua said about Tyson [Fury] letting the world of boxing down, you take that with a pinch of salt.

“Because at the end of the day they are both fighting men.

“It is when you listen to s**t from Paul, I can’t see how so many people take him seriously.

“I think he’s a clown. I thought to myself, ‘is he actually taking the p**s here, is he being sarcastic?’

“But he genuinely means it!

“I mean I’m watching him now, not for his boxing, but for the s**t that comes out of him.”

Jake Paul’s next boxing match is set to be in August against former UFC champion Tyron Woodley.
