Mike Tyson poked in face by boxing fan just days after punching plane passenger
Mike Tyson had another run-in with a member of the public just days after he punched a plane passenger – although this time, the antagoniser didn't end up with a blood-spattered face.
Former heavyweight champion Tyson was recently filmed punching a boxing fan on a flight bound for San Francisco. The man, later identified as convicted criminal Melvin Townsend III, aggravated Iron Mike while the plane was still on the tarmac.
Tyson, who claimed he had a bottle of water thrown over him during the incident – an allegation which was denied – responded by launching a flurry of punches at Townsend, drawing blood on the victim's face.
Little over a week after that incident which made headlines around the world, Tyson was involved in another altercation with a fan. This time, the 55-year-old was approached during an appearance at Shakur Stevenson's victory over Oscar Valdez in Las Vegas.
Tyson stopped to take photos with fans when a woman leant round from behind him and stuck her finger right in his face, almost putting it up his nose. Unimpressed, the boxing legend immediately turned round to confront the woman who quickly apologised.
"I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to do that," she could be heard saying in a video of the incident. This time, however, Tyson largely kept his cool, maintaining his composure to take another picture with a young fan as security staff calmed the situation.
The Baddest Man on the Planet then continued on his way without incident. Trouble has seemed to follow Tyson in the last few months. As well as the airline incident, in March a man challenged the boxer to a fight in a comedy club before pulling a gun.
Nevertheless, celebrity pals have stuck up for the troubled star, with Tyson Fury jumping to his defence after the plane fracas last month. "Mike Tyson is a real O.G. and you can't mess with Mike because you don't know what he's going to do," he told Piers Morgan.

"The fun police will be on Mike to get cancelled but how long can you prod a lion with a stick? He's not the man you want to prod. If he's man enough to prod Mike Tyson, touch him and abuse him, then man up and take a punch in the face. He should be paying Mike. Now he can say he's been punched in the face by a legend. I'd pay for that myself," he said.
