An impressive display from Chris Eubank Jr saw him overwhelm Liam Smith in Manchester on Saturday night, taking revenge just months after having lost to the latter during their January bout.

Eubank Jr managed to drop Smith in the fourth round, which was the very round Smith dropped and stopped Eubank Jr in back at the start of 2023. However, despite Smith quickly returning to his feet, Eubank Jr was clearly in control of the bout.

And then in the 10th round, a barrage of punches from Eubank Jr saw referee Kevin Parker step in to stop the fight, handing him a TKO stoppage victory.

After the fight, Smith was pictured sporting a huge cut above his right eye, which he picked up during a flurry of blows from Eubank Jr. And the Liverpudlian middleweight boxer had to admit after the fact that Eubank Jr had gotten the better of him during their re-match encounter.

"I feel I was just flat from the start, the weight killed me a little bit after the injury," Smith told Sky Sports, with his huge right eye cut gleaming. "I was just flat from the get go and Chris was sharp. So, that's it. That's all I can really say about it really.

"I couldn't move my feet and then when I did move my feet, I rolled my ankle, I've got dodgy ankles haven't I so it's just one of them things. "But Chris was the better man tonight. I shout when I win, I'll take my defeat when I lose.

Smith added: "Yeah, of course, I think everyone knows, I think Chris knows how I was with the weight, you know, to say it at the weigh in and after the injury, I've come down three stone so it's a lot of weight to shift in a short space of time.

"But that's all I can put my finger on. I was flat as they come from the get go, couldn't move my feet and Chris was sharp early on so fair play to him."
