Amir Khan and Kell Brook will come face-to-face for the final time before their long-awaited grudge match as they take to the scales on Friday afternoon.

The fierce rivals will finally settle their differences in the squared circle on Saturday night in Manchester, but beforehand is an enticing weigh-in with fireworks expected after they clashed at an ugly pre-fight press conference on Thursday.

The pair have agreed to a catchweight of 149lbs, two pounds above the welterweight limit, but Brook on Thursday revealed he could deliberately come in heavier. Both fighters will be fined £100,000 for every pound weighed in above the limit.

Khan and Brook will take to the stage shortly, but it’s also worth a quick reminder of what else is to come on Saturday night.

The weigh-in is now almost upon us! The fighters, beginning with the undercard, will start stepping on the scales in roughly 10 minutes.

Both fighters are no longer in their primes but it’s a bout neither can afford to lose – primarily for the sake of legacy and bragging rights.

And with the blockbuster bout finally coming to fruition, Khan opted to travel to the dizzying heights of Colorado Springs, United States where he worked with Brian McIntyre and Terence Crawford.

He sparred four-minute rounds with 30 second breaks, against the likes of Crawford, and ran up mountains on his one days off each week.

There have been plenty of mind games played between the pair during the build-up to the bout, and Brook was at in on Thursday, as he warned he could come in above the weight limit – which, as we all know, would earn him a hefty fine.

‘You’ll have to wait to see if I make weight, or if I come in heavier,’ Brook said. ‘I might pay a few hundred thousand pounds. I might play games. I might be on weight, I might not.’

With a £100k fine to be handed out for every pound weighed in above the limit, it seems unlikely Brook will do so, however.

Khan certainly believes Brook won’t, saying: ‘I am sure he doesn’t want to be giving me 100s of thousands of pounds, he will kill himself making that weight.’

So, Khan and Brook have agreed to a catchweight of 149lbs, which is 2lbs above the welterweight limit.

Of course, Brook is a former IBF welterweight champion, and indeed his last fight was at 147lbs, where he fell to a knockout defeat to Terence Crawford.

However, since making the jump up to 160lbs to take on Gennady Golovkin, Brook has admitted he’s finding it increasingly hard to make the weight.

Meanwhile, Khan is undoubtedly a naturally lighter man. His greatest success came at super-lightweight (140lbs), while in his last fight against Billy Dib he came in at 146.4lb. The weight shouldn’t be an issue for him.

There has been talk of a potential rehydration clause inserted into the contract by Khan, but Boxxer’s Ben Shalom denied that yesterday.

Regardless of whether this fight is happening too late or not, the public demand is clearly still immense. The fight sold out in under 10 minutes, in one of the quickest-selling fights in British history.

Here’s all the information you need to know ahead of the fight, including fight records, how to follow the fight and the fight card in full.

Khan and Brook are undoubtedly the stars of the show, but there is also an abundance of action taking place on the undercard this weekend.

Perhaps most notably is Natasha Jonas, who hopes to make it third time lucky as she takes on Chris Namus for the vacant women’s WBO super-welterweight title.

Elsewhere, Olympian Frazer Clarke will be making his pro debut, while Viddal Riley will be making his UK debut. Brothers Hassan and Adam Azim are also on the card.

Since Thursday’s ugly affair, both Khan and Brook have denied aiming alleged racist and homophobic comments at each other.

Brook, known as ‘The Special One’, told Sky Sports: ‘He’s obviously going down the line of me being racist.

‘Most of my close friends are Asian. The original Amir Khan was going to be in my corner so he’s obviously wanting to get the people thinking I’m racist but I’m absolutely not.’

Meanwhile, Sky Sports report that when asked whether Khan would like to retract or apologise for comments on Brook’s sexuality, Khan said that nobody in his team had considered that he had done anything wrong, stressing that his comment was not homophobic.

It’s not just the weights to look out for, with Khan and Brook set to get one final opportunity to face off before their long-awaited bout.

They clashed at Thursday’s press conference, one which quickly turned ugly, with the pair both seemingly making comments about each other’s sexuality.

Khan also questioned Brook over allegedly racist comments he had made, in which he allegedly said he would smash his ‘poppadom chin’.

A fight many predicted would never happen is now swiftly approaching, and in around about an hour, Amir Khan and Kell Brook will hit the scales as they face-off for the last time before their long-awaited bout on Saturday night.

The pair have been fierce rivals ever since the amateur days, where Khan still insists he would ‘school’ his impending opponent. They’ve had numerous opportunities to share the ring, but only now has it come to fruition.

Weight was an issue at the forefront of the negotiations between the pair, who are set to fight at a 149lb catchweight, two pounds above the welterweight limit.

Brook, who has in recent years struggled to get down to 147lbs, on Thursday revealed he might just come in heavier than the limit today. That would see him fined heavily, however, with both fighters set to be fined £100,000 for every pound they weigh in above the limit.

Stay tuned as we build up towards this afternoon’s weigh in ahead of Saturday’s blockbuster.
