Jake Paul’s "slick KO" of Tyron Woodley broken down step-by-step

Jake Paul has been told by his old rival Daniel Cormier that his knockout of Tyron Woodley was "pretty slick".

Paul knocked out Woodley in the sixth round of their rematch with a devastating right hand that sent the ex-UFC champion face-first to the canvas.

The knockout caught the attention of his fellow pugilists with Badou Jack and Ryan Garcia labelling it the "knockout of the year".

Former two-weight UFC champion Cormier approached Paul at UFC 261 earlier this year and threatened to "smack him" in the face.

But the now-retired UFC star admitted he was impressed by Paul's knockout of Woodley last weekend.

He told ESPN MMA : "That right hand he hit Tyron with was pretty slick. What he did was he feinted at him, right?

"He feinted at T-Wood [so] he would have dropped his hand, so then when he threw the second one and the hand dropped, there was no overhand right, it was a hook."

"T-Wood said 'he got me with the overhand right', he didn't even know what got him… he got him with a right hook, it was bad.

"He hit him so hard dude, and then T-Wood goes face down like bro, T-Wood's my boy, I love him but dude, that wasn't good. That's a bad look."

Paul knocked out YouTuber AnEsonGib, former NBA star Nate Robinson and former UFC welterweight Ben Askren before his wins over Woodley.

He called for fights with Conor McGregor, Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz after his recent win, with Masvidal demanding $20 million for the bout.

Woodley didn't shy away from his loss to Paul, making light of the knockout by giving $5,000 to a fan who created a meme of it.

And Cormier is baffled by the likes of Askren and Woodley making fun of themselves after their losses to Paul.

"You know what's worse? The after. I don't know what T-Wood is doing on social media, he posted the knockout, he makes a contest," he continued.

"It's like Jake Paul is beating these dudes so bad, they start to make fun of themselves.

"Kid has money, ways of improving and honestly, he is much better than people want to give him credit for. The kid can fight a little bit.

"My biggest issue is, these guys go in there to fight this dude. They lose to him, Ben Askren was immediately almost making fun of himself.

"It's like you're so embarrassed that you lost to the Disney kid and YouTuber, that you almost start to become self-depreciated."
