Jake Paul to earn millions from Ben Askren KO as fight generates $65million

Jake Paul is celebrating another eight-figure pay day after his fight with Ben Askren generated $65million from 1.3m pay-per-view buys.

The YouTube star posted a picture of himself with a holdall of cash as he updated his fans as to the success of his third professional fight.

He needed just two minutes to stop former UFC star Askren who was making his professional boxing debut on Saturday night.

Paul was guaranteed $690,000 for his victory but will now rake in millions thanks to his share of the pay-per-view revenue.

He claimed to have earned $10m from his second-round KO of Nate Robinson on the undercard of Mike Tyson's comeback against Roy Jones Jr last November.

That fight generated a similar income and so Paul, this time as the headline act, can expect to earn even more.

Askren was guaranteed $500,000 for his first fight in the ring but will also earn much more when the revenue is divided.

Paul dropped his 36-year-old opponent with his first real attack as a one-two sent Askren to the canvas.

The former MMA champion beat the referee's count but the official waved the bout off.

Paul wouldn't be drawn on his next fight but named Conor McGregor and Tommy Fury as possible opponents.

The 24-year-old said: "I told you I was going to do it in the first round," said Paul. "I told you all I'm a real fighter. I don't know how many times I've got to prove myself that this is for real.

"I'm going to do whatever I want, I feel like I'm living in a dream right now.

"I don't know what's next for me, I've fought three times, talked a lot of s***, I'm going to enjoy my life for a second.

"I said this fight would be easier than the Nate Robinson fight; at one point I was the underdog, that sounds crazy but i was the underdog.

"I knew Ben would sit there like a typical MMA fighter and have no head movement. I'm just too powerful."
