Jake Paul predicts when he will knock out Tyron Woodley with fight confirmed
Jake Paul predicts he will stop Tyron Woodley inside two rounds following confirmation of his boxing showdown with the former UFC champion.
The YouTube star is seeking to extend his professional record to 4-0 when he takes on 38-year-old Woodley on 28 August.
Woodley, a close friend of Paul’s last opponent Ben Askren, held the UFC welterweight strap for two years.
While he has a decorated wrestling background, the Missouri fighter is also an accomplished striker, boasting a TKO record of 7-2 – including a knockout win over Robbie Lawlor that won him the belt in 2016.
Woodley marks another step up in quality of opponent for Paul, who secured knockout wins over fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib and former NBA basketball player Nate Robinson before his first-round win over Askren in April.
But the younger Paul brother is expecting another swift stoppage against another MMA veteran.
Paul said: ‘I have a list of people I plan on knocking out and as I enter my fourth pro fight, I am excited to cross the first one off the list by challenging myself against Woodley, a five-time UFC champion known for his knockout power.
‘Tyron ran his mouth a little too much in the locker room when I knocked out his best friend Ben and earned himself a top spot on [my list].
‘Tyron’s a seasoned striker who has fought the best MMA fighters in the world but will be dropped by a Disney teen star in two rounds.
‘Maybe this time [UFC president] Dana White will actually be a man of his word and put his money on his former champion instead of trying to undermine my success.
‘Influencer vs MMA….let’s get it on.’
