Jake Paul gives Mike Tyson the green light over proposed fight

Jake Paul gives Mike Tyson the green light over proposed fight with heavyweight legend who is 30 years older than him… and agrees the bout would break pay-per-view record

  • Jake Paul has accepted Mike Tyson’s proposal of an exhibition boxing match
  • Paul, 25, has made public his wish to fight Tyson, 55, for some time now
  • Paul agreed with Tyson that the fight would break the pay-per-view record

Jake Paul has accepted the challenge laid down by Mike Tyson over a proposed boxing match, claiming it would be ‘one of the biggest’ fights in history.

The 25-year-old YouTuber and the 55-year-old heavyweight legend have been dancing around the prospect of meeting in the ring for some time.

But having initially poured cold water on the idea, Tyson recently reversed his position and said an exhibition fight with Paul should be on the cards.

Iron Mike even went as far as to claim it would break the pay-per-view boxing record, and Paul was inclined to agree with his foe.

Asked about Tyson’s latest comments and the chances of a fight, Paul told Boxing Social: ‘Ideally, for sure, that’s legendary.

‘As Mike Tyson said on the Joe Rogan podcast, it would be one of the biggest pay-per-views of all time.

‘Together when we were on the same card, we sold almost two million pay-per-views. It could be three million pay-per-views, four million pay-per-views.’

Jake Paul is undefeated in his boxing career so far, winning four of five fights by knock-out

Paul went on to make his intentions clear and explicitly called out one of the all-time heavyweight greats.

‘Mike Tyson like you said on the podcast, if you’re watching this, let’s make the fight happen,’ he said.

‘I’m ready and I think I would win, Mike thinks he would win, so let’s do it.’

Paul was responding to comments Tyson made last week in which he said he was keen to fight.

‘Hell yeah (I’d fight him), only to break the record,’ Tyson said.

Tyson said Paul is a bigger attraction than champions boxers and they could make history

‘Jake Paul believe it not is more profitable than the champs, this guy probably brings about 80million people to the table,’ he added.

‘Let’s do it Jakey, God wouldn’t that be cool.’

Paul remains undefeated in his fledgling boxing career, winning four if his five exhibition fights by knock-out. Tyson, for his part, won 50 fights, 44 of them by knock-out.

The current boxing pay-per-view record is held by the 2015 fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, which brought in around 4.6million purchases.
