Francis Ngannou sends message to Tyson Fury over heavyweight mega-fight

UFC heavyweight star Francis Ngannou has fired a message to Tyson Fury over a potential mega-fight in the boxing ring.

Ngannou secured a huge win over Stipe Miocic last month at UFC 260 to win the Heavyweight Championship.

The French-Cameroonian fighter is now being lined up for a huge bout with Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones.

But it appears that the 6'4", 263 pound could follow in the footsteps of Conor McGregor in switching codes.

And just like the Notorious, he has his eyes firmly set on fighting the best in the business.

"I don't want to fight Mike Tyson but I would like to fight another heavyweight boxer such as Tyson Fury,” Ngannou said.

"Absolutely. I'm open to that. Remember boxing was my primary dream and I still have the fire, the dream inside me and I believe at some point, I'm gonna make a step.”

UFC chief Dana White will be desperate for Ngannou to face Jones first though.

And Jones’ coach Mike Winkeljohn insists that his man is in better shape than ever to face Ngannou.

“I expect Jon Jones to just take the plate and hit a homerun,” Winkeljohn said. “There’s no doubt about it.

“You know what, it’s about Jon imposing his will and fighting where he wants. And where he doesn’t want to, he won’t be there in the fight.

“So, it’s all about Jon Jones’ mentality and how smart he is.

“He’s got the experience on Francis, there’s no doubt about that. And Jon’s a big guy now, people would be surprised.

“He’s been hammering the weights, lifting. His power doubles, he can launch people over his head like crazy. He’s just so strong everywhere. And he hasn’t lost any speed.

“I think people are gonna have a great new look at the better Jon Jones in the future.”
