Logan Paul will offer a fresh challenge to Floyd Mayweather when they meet in Miami this weekend – but don't expect the YouTuber to go the distance with the pound for pound king.
That is the view of southpaw sparring partner of Mayweather, Daquan Mays, who was invited to spend time with Logan during the early stages of his ongoing training camp.
The fight, which will go on for a maximum of eight rounds of three minutes, will not have an official winner on scorecards – but knockouts are permitted under the watch of the referee.
Both men will be fitted with 10-ounce gloves for the unusual encounter, but neither will be wearing headgear for the exhibition between the 26-year-old and 44-year-old foes.
Having spent time with both, Mays has offered an unsurprising prediction on the result.
Mays told The Sun: "At the end of the day, you've got a small crafty guy, a genius, very experienced and then you've got a strong guy who is athletic and got his own ability too.
"It's definitely going to be a challenging fight.
"Logan being smart, it will definitely go past the third round. But I'll give it six rounds. Logan is doing 12 rounds right now in camp, so I think he's in good shape and can probably take some good punches."
Will Logan Paul shock Floyd Mayweather? Let us know in the comments section.
Hitting back at critics of his choice of opponent, Mayweather said this week: "Why not?"
Adding in a chat with Sky Sports News: "He's huge on YouTube, he has a huge following and before I had even heard of YouTube I was already huge in the sport of boxing.
"And when you bring his world with my world… man it's going to be crazy."
With Paul telling reporters: "I’m not going in there with the fight meaning the entire world to me.
"I have nothing to lose. This whole thing is going to be fun for me. I’m going to play with Floyd – gonna dog him and hit him hard. I’m going to break him down physically, mentally, everything.
"I don’t like comparing myself to other guys. As great as they might be, I’m not them."
