Former multiple world champion boxer Floyd Mayweather is back in the ring this weekend for an exhibition bout. The 44-year-old will face YouTube personality Logan Paul at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
Paul challenged Mayweather to a showdown at the back end of 2020 after he confirmed he wanted to continue his boxing career.
Despite the initial bout being rejected by Mayweather, and the original date being postponed from February due to COVID-19, the stage is now set for June 6.
The match has been ratified by organisers as an eight-round fight, with each round lasting a maximum of three minutes, with a judging panel set to confirm the outcome if there is no knockout blow landed.
The fight is Mayweather’s second exhibition fight since his third retirement – in which he returned to beat rival Conor McGregor in 2017 – and his first ringside entrance since 2018.
The Michigan-born fighter has publicly boasted how much money he is anticipated to make from the fight, after cashing in on an incredible £210million ($280m) from the McGregor fight.

“I can fight a fighter right now and I can guarantee myself $35million,” Mayweather said in his pre-fight press conference.
“I can eventually probably make $50million, for just a regular fight.
“Or me and Logan Paul can go out, entertain, have fun and make nine figures, $100million or more.”
Despite Mayweather indicating the fight could land him a pre-set figure of $100m, the actual final total is expected to be much higher as fervour grows around the fight.

At Express Sport we look at what each fighter is anticipated to pick up for one night’s work in Miami.
Paul has been offered a base salary for the fight in the region of £175,000 ($250,000), however, that figure is expected to skyrocket based on PPV views of the bout.
UK audiences are being charged £16.95 for the fight with viewers in the US paying out £35 ($49.99).
Early pre-fight estimates have stated the TV pot could reach up to £141million ($200m) with Paul guaranteed around £14million ($20m) based on his 10% share.
Mayweather’s share will be significantly higher after his promotional team negotiated a multi-million-dollar package before agreeing to the fight.
His base salary is set at £7million ($10m) before he even steps into the ring in Miami this weekend.
He will also pick up a whopping 50% of the expected £141million ($200m) TV money.
That would comfortably bring Mayweather over the £70million ($100m) mark for the fight with current estimates for the final total pot for TV, sponsorship and base pay expected to exceed £210million ($300m).
