Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul could be moved to a Sunday due to PPV clash

Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul are set to fight on a Sunday to avoid a pay-per-view clash with Triller as Teofimo Lopez takes on mandatory challenger George Kambosos Jr.

While Mayweather vs Paul had been discussed for the same date, it has now been confirmed that Lopez will defend his WBA, IBF, WBO lightweight titles on June 5.

That could push the exhibition bout back a day, meaning it could be an unusual Sunday evening PPV, which might have an impact on Mayweather’s target earnings.

Ryan Kavanaugh, who is considered the brains behind boxing on Triller, has now hypothesised that the legendary boxer will not want to compete.

Kavanaugh told The Sun, who had detailed the PPV plans: "I don't have any doubt if people have to choose who they're going to tune into, they're going to tune into this one.

"That's an exhibition with all types of crazy rules and if I was them I would not want to go up against us. I have no concerns of going up against them.

“But I do believe they are going on Sunday, from everything I've been told."

“These YouTube girls better find some Barbie dolls to play with cause I’m not the one for the kid games," Mayweather said when the fight was first teased.

“Three years ago a fighter from the UFC said my name and I had to put a muzzle on that b****. Logan Paul can get the same treatment before I go conquer Japan again.”

With Logan saying: “I’ll say this – the complications are when you are dealing with someone like Floyd Mayweather who is the most desired, highest paid fighter on the planet and he operates at a certain calibre, and the people around him want to make sure their talent, their fighter is performing at a certain level, there are a lot hoops to jump through.
