Floyd Mayweather is open to signing Francis Ngannou to his boxing promotion.
The former UFC star left the MMA promotion in March after a contract disrepute, and it’s unclear what his next move is set to be.
But there have been several suggestions that he could be set to enter the boxing world, with a bout with Tyson Fury touted for a while, and the prospect of that happening seems to have moved forward.
While their is no guarantee Ngannou will make the move into professional boxing, Mayweather has backed the 36-year-old to do just that in the future.
Speaking with Bet Online, Mayweather heaped praise on Ngannou, insisting he would ‘love’ to sign him to help his boxing career.

‘I would love to work with (him),’ Mayweather said. ‘I would love to sign him to Mayweather Promotions.
‘He’s a very skilled guy, unbelievable and if he wants to fight one of the the top heavyweights, he should do it. With his size, strength and power – anything can happen. With his power and toughness, he can make some noise in the heavyweight division.’
UFC boss Dana White confirmed in January that Ngannou would be released from his contract after turning down an offer that would have made him the highest-paid heavyweight of all time.

White spoke to the media following UFC Vegas 67 and announced Jon Jones would face Ciryl Gane for the heavyweight title on March 4, and that Ngannou had been released from the organisation and stripped of his belt.
The former heavyweight champion has maintained he was right to reject the deal since, and has teased a career in boxing, though nothing on his future has been made concrete.
He posted a graphic to his Twitter account in February with the words ‘Who’s next?’ on, with images of Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury on.
Fury had also challenged Ngannou to a bizarre bout in a cage following years of back and forth between the two.
Eddie Hearn, meanwhile, has teased a crossover fight between Ngannou and Joshua.
