- Conor McGregor says Cameron should ‘do something about it’ if she’s worried
Conor McGregor has dismissed Chantelle Cameron’s claims that the judges may be bias towards Katie Taylor during their title fight in Dublin this evening.
Taylor and Cameron will go toe-to-toe at the 3Arena later tonight, with the Bray Bomber looking to become an undisputed world champion in a second weight category on her Irish homecoming.
Cameron recently shared her concerns about the potential bias she may face if her highly anticipated title fight goes the distance – claiming Taylor has picked up come lucky results in the past.
However, Taylor shut those claims down pretty quickly – stating they were ‘complete nonsense’ and that she has ‘deserved’ to win every fight of her career so far.
McGregor was equally as dismissive of Cameron’s comments when he sat down with Mail Sport for an exclusive interview in the build-up to the fight. He implied that Cameron should take the matter out of the judges hands instead of talking about it.

When asked what he made of Cameron’s comments, McGregor sat back in his chair and sighed before saying: ‘She [Cameron] better do something about it so. Try and do something about it.’
McGregor then shrugged his shoulders and smiled before moving on to speak about his excitement for the fight this evening. It was clear he wasn’t reading too much into Cameron’s comments.
The British boxer made her remarks about Taylor and the judges ahead of Thursday’s press conference. She said ‘In all honesty we’ve seen it three times with Katie. She’s had very close fights where she has got the nod. It could have been a draw [against Serrano] or easily gone the other way. That is a concern. But it is out of my hands. I can’t control that.
‘If something is not in my control I won’t let it eat me up. I just have to make sure I do what I know I can do. As much as it’s a massive task ahead of me, I have to make sure I make it a convincing win as well. I have to try not to make it close rounds.

‘Serrano was very close. It could have gone either way. If Serrano had won you wouldn’t have argued it. If it was a draw you wouldn’t have argued it. In the Delfine Persoon fight and Serrano I definitely saw flaws I could pick up on.’
Despite raising her concerns about the impartiality of the judges, Cameron is confident she can beat Taylor. She said: ‘I’m always nervous for every single fight. Obviously this is the biggest fight for me, facing Katie Taylor, the pound-for-pound best. But I will use my nerves as a fuel.
‘I’ve ticked every box in my preparation. I couldn’t have had better preparation. Beating Katie Taylor puts me at the top. Hopefully it will be life-changing. I’ve not thought too deeply into it.
‘If I do I’ll set myself up for disaster. My own focus is winning and whatever comes after that, it comes. I’m cool, calm and collected.’
