Bare Knuckle Fight Club ace Mike ‘Platinum’ Perry turned down a sparring opportunity with Jake Paul, as the ex-YouTuber’s offer was $47,500 (£38,998) short of what he wanted.

The former UFC star has previously helped the Problem Child along the course of his boxing journey by sparring with him in April 2021. However, Perry soon went on to label him a "spoilt brat" after the 25-year-old posted a clip of the BKFC star appearing to congratulate him on their spar.

Despite the awkward encounter, Perry claimed Paul came back around again, asking him to fly to his training base in Puerto Rico and spar in the build-up to his second victory over Tyron Woodley. However, it is very safe to say, Paul’s offer was substantially short.

“His coaches hit me up before he fought Tyron Woodley the second time,” Perry said in an exclusive interview with Daily Star Sport. “They were going to pay me 2500 bucks (£2052) to come out and spar him.

“I would have had to fly to Puerto Rico, leave my family, and kind of let Jake Paul try and beat me up for a few days in a row for 2500 dollars. I thought ‘you’re supposed to make millions from fighting T-Wood, you could pay me like, I don’t know, 50K to come out and get that work’.

“It really takes up my time and my travel. I sparred him once for free. They tried to pay me and I was like ‘nah man, I’m good, that one is free’."

Paul could now face Woodley for a third time, after his bout against Hasim Rahman Jr was cancelled. Rahman, who is the son of two-time world heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman, was unable to make the agreed weight before their clash on August 6.

This news prompted greater frustration from Paul and fight fans who are eager to see the former Disney star test his mettle against a professional boxer. Rahman Jr is the second boxing opponent to pull out of a bout against Paul, after supposed visa issues prevented Tommy Fury from stepping into the ring against the boxing rookie.

Meanwhile, Perry is set to face British kickboxer Michael ‘Venom’ Page in the main event of BKFC London on August 20; the UK’s first sanctioned bare knuckle prize fight in 155 years.

Tickets for BKFC's first-ever European event, headlined by a Transatlantic showdown between Michael 'Venom' Page and 'Platinum' Mike Perry, are on sale now via AXS.com
