  • Canelo Alvarez faces Billy Joe Saunders on May 5 at the AT&T Stadium in Texas
  • Saunders’ WBO title and Alvarez’s WBC and WBA championships are on the line
  • Chris Eubank Jr previously lost to the Brit, but is confident the Mexican will win
  • The 31-year-old star is even ready to put a £10,000 bet on his old rival losing

Billy Joe Saunders will see his unbeaten record shattered by knock-out on May 5, according to Chris Eubank Jr, who is so confident he’s lumping £10,000 on a Canelo Alvarez victory.

The Welwyn Garden City fighter and the Mexican face-off in Texas next month to unify the WBO, WBC and WBA belts in a blockbuster super-middleweight clash.

Eubank Jr suffered his first professional defeat against Saunders in 2014, but believes he’ll be outclassed in front of the 60,000 crowd.

Alvarez has only lost to Floyd Mayweather and has been on a roll since with 55 pro victories

‘Saunders is going to get hurt. I’m going to be putting a £10,000 bet on Canelo to knock Saunders out,’ the 31-year-old told TalkSport.

‘That’s what I think is going to happen, I think Saunders is going to get knocked out.’

Alvarez’s last defeat came back in 2013 against 50-0-0 icon Floyd Mayweather, but he’s been on a roll since.

Though Eubank has no faith in his fellow Brit, he is certain he’s the one to stop the Mexican in his tracks.

Chris Eubank Jr is planning on placing a huge 10,000 bet on Saunders to be floored on May 5

Saunders handed the Brit his first professional defeat back in 2014, winning through a decision

‘I don’t really feel like Saunders has improved since he last fought me,’ the WBA interim middleweight title-holder added.

‘I think he is the same guy. I am levels and levels above what I was when I first got into the ring with Saunders.

‘Somebody who is going to be successful against Canelo, you have to have a very different mind-set, a very different approach to the average boxer.

‘I don’t think Saunders has what it takes. I have what it takes, I know the way to beat Canelo.

‘I’m sure I will get my shot within the next couple of years. But it is a very bad fight for Saunders and, if it happens, he is going to get knocked out.’
