Chris Eubank Jr dedicated his win over Wanik Awdijan on Saturday night to his nephew and sent a heartfelt tribute after his brother’s death.
The bout was Eubank Jr’s first since the tragic death of his brother Sebastian.
The middleweight had been preparing to fight on October 2 but his date was rescheduled after two opponents pulled out due to medical issues.
Eyeing a world title fight in the near-future, Eubank Jr made light work of Awdijan, who retired from the fight on his stall following five rounds, much to the dismay of those in attendance.
The 32-year-old was visibly frustrated after his opponent called it quits, leaving Eubank Jr with a win that he didn’t really have to work for.
However, the boxer took to social media to pay tribute to his late brother and send a touching message to his nephew.
“Raheem tonight was for you & your old man,” Next Gen wrote on Twitter along with a pair of photos of him and his nephew.
“We miss him & now he will live on through you…you got some big shoes to fill kid #TeamEubank ”
After the win, which takes the Sussex-born striker to a record of 31-2-0, Eubank Jr commented on the difficulties he has had to overcome in the build up.

He also suggested a big fight could be on the cards before the end of the year.
“With everything that has happened it is good to be back home in the ring, that is my life,” Eubank Jr said.
“I would have liked to have put on more of a show but the guy said I broke his ribs and he could not continue.
“Some guys take head shots all day but nobody can take bodyshots all day.
“He came out southpaw and I was told he was an orthodox fighter and trained for that so that was something else.
