Boxing fans have hit out the ‘disturbing’ exhibition bout between James Toney and Donovan ‘Razor’ Ruddock, claiming the people around them should be ‘ashamed’.
The two men went toe-to-toe in the ring on Saturday night despite having a combined age of 114, leaving fans horrified as they watched the action unfold.
The six-round contest – which ended in a draw – saw Toney and Ruddock throw laboured punches and slump around the ring before the commission stepped in.
The commission changed the bout from two-minute rounds at the end of the second after watching the two men struggle physically.
Supporters took to X after the event to share their concern over the exhibition and questioned whether bouts like that should be allowed.

Tony Jeffries took to social media to say: ‘James Toney (age 55) vs Razor Ruddock (59) just did a 6rd fight last night.
‘If you’ve heard these guys speak you’ll agree it’s absolutely disgusting they are doing this The people around them should be ashamed So sad to see how much these achieved & now need to do this.’
While Fox reporter Mark Ortega said: ‘Anybody who pays for James Toney vs Razor Ruddock in the year 2023 should be jailed.’
Another fan added: ‘This is more disturbing than I could have ever imagined.’ While one social media user wrote: ‘This is sad.’
Toney’s last professional bout was back in 2017. He walked away from the professional side of the sport with a record of 77-10-3.
The American also took part in a MMA bout in 2010, fighting Randy Couture at UFC 118. However, he lost via arm-triangle and never returned to the sport.
Meanwhile, Ruddock walked away from professional boxing seven years ago with a record of 40-6-1.
His most notorious fights came against Lennox Lewis (1992) and Mike Tyson (twice in 1991). However, he lost all three fights.
