Boxing coach Jules Bevis has tragically died in the ring at the age of just 55, with his niece and ex-WWE star Paige leading the tributes.

Jules was taking part in a charity event in Norwich on Sunday (October 3) when he collapsed. Attempts were made to bring him round but the veteran boxer was tragically declared dead at the scene.

Paige, real name Saraya-Jade Bevis, hailed her uncle, who was helping to raise money for a four-year girl with cancer at the time of his passing. She said: "Up until the end he had a heart of gold.

"He was doing a charity boxing match at my dad's wrestling PC raising money for a little girl for her cancer treatments."

Jules' heartbroken daughter Chantal also paid tribute to her Tottenham-loving dad. She said: "Thank you for everything today! I hope my Dad sleeps peacefully and knows how loved he was. X".

Saraya's mum Julia Hamer added: "What happened today was surreal, I am numb, my sadness is overwhelming.

"But, I have to mention the way Jules Tottenham Bevis was treated by the NHS Professionals, medics, paramedics, critical trauma and Norfolk Constabulary was just amazing.

"The emotion that flowed from them when they had to stop was a sight to behold. They all hugged each other tears flowing because they couldn't save him. Genuine Care and love."

Jules, who is thought to have passed pre-fight medical tests, suddenly fell to the floor during his bout at the World Association of Wrestling Academy and police are investigating his death which is currently being treated as unexplained.

He was one of 30 fighters at the Fighting for Kayla event, where funds were being raised for Kayla Buttle, who has neuroblastoma cancer, to have potentially life-saving treatment in the US.

Anyone with information about Jules' passing can call Norfolk Constabulary on 101, quoting incident number 288 of October 2.
