Boxing champion rushed to hospital after arm savaged by dog weeks before fight
Boxing champion Tim Tszyu has been rushed to hospital after being attacked by a dog just weeks before his world title fight.
The 28-year-old’s right arm was bitten by a dog on Sunday. Tszyu required emergency surgery, leaving his bout at the Gold Coast Convention Centre in three weeks’ time in serious doubt.
The Aussie fighter was set to defend his interim WBO super-welterweight title against Carlos Ocampo on June 18. And it is not yet known whether the injury will cause him to pull of the clash against the Mexican.

Yet Tszyu’s manager Glen Jennings has played down the severity of the damage, saying: "The wound was superficial. The post-surgical report is all good.
"There is no doubt that Tim will be ready and 100% healthy and focused to take on Carlos Ocampo on June 18."
And no Limit Boxing CEO George Rose also believes the highly-anticipated title fight will go ahead, announcing that Tszyu is “ok”.

He said in a statement: "Like everyone, I was shocked and worried when I first heard the news.
"It's certainly not the ideal preparation anytime a fighter ends up in hospital a few weeks out from a world title fight but the best news right now is that Tim is doing ok.
"He has the best and most experienced team around him in world boxing. They have reassured me he'll be more than ready on June 18 to take on Ocampo. If they're confident, I'm confident."
"There is no doubt that Tim will be ready and 100 per cent healthy and focused to take on Carlos Ocampo on June 18."
Tszyu will be eager to overcome the hurdle as he looks to maintain his flawless 22-0 boxing record against the dangerous Ocampo.
The 27-year-old Mexican boasts a record of 34 wins and two losses, with his only defeats coming against world-class fighters.
