Anthony Joshua hints he is ready to accept venue offer for Tyson Fury fight
It seems the biggest heavyweight showdown in British boxing history has taken a huge step to becoming a reality after Anthony Joshua hinted he was ready to accept an official offer to face Tyson Fury.
Eddie Hearn has been in discussions for weeks with various venues vying to host the fight and several options are now being put forward to both boxers, with a view to getting a deal done for them to meet in the ring this summer.
And it appears Joshua has already approved of one of the bids under consideration as he immediately fired a warning to Fury over social media.
"Positive news this evening! I'm lacing up my running boots rn [right now]!!!" Joshua wrote on Instagram.
"@258MGT and @Matchroomboxing have received the first OFFICIAL offer to host the Undisputed Heavyweight Championship Of The WORLD!
"I will be victorious God willing! No place to hide now! I'M COMING."
Joshua will be putting his IBF, WBA and WBO world titles on the line against Fury's WBC crown in the first of a two-fight deal between both camps.
Wembley Stadium is one of the potential venues in the frame to host their bout in the summer and would have the benefit of being able to welcome fans given the UK should be completely out of lockdown restrictions by the time a fight takes place.
Other venues have been able to table bigger offers for a fight to be staged later in the year but Hearn is intent on scheduling one for the summer.
"I think everybody is aware, I know you might want to do this fight in November or December, but you can't," Hearn told SunSport .
"All these people that want the fight know this is the only time it will happen.
“You have to do it now. When you make your offer, it's got to reflect that."

A decision could now be made this week with both parties keen to make an announcement and arrange their training plans.
Hearn told Sky Sports at the weekend: "The teams will get together. I will try to see [Fury's US promoter] Bob Arum on Tuesday. We're nearly there. We have worked really hard and we don't want to give in.
"We're in a good place, nice and close. I can't do any more than I'm doing. People know that we're on the verge.
"Both guys are desperate to get moving. Joshua wants a date for the start of his camp. This is the sporting event of 2021. One lucky site will get good news next week and the whole world will stop to watch this fight."
