The controversial Lingerie Fighting Championships (LFC) returned over the weekend, as MMA fighters faced off in racy outfits in Las Vegas at ‘Booty Camp 3D’.
The fight night consisted of seven pay-per-view bouts in Sin City, and arguably the biggest result on the night came when La Scorpia was crowned the new ‘Booty Camp Champ’, as she defeated opponent Vulcana via a unanimous decision.
The championship’s Twitter account took to the social media site to describe the annual event as a success.
@LingerieFC tweeted: “And that's a wrap on another successful event! #LFC35: Booty Camp 3D was a blast and introduced some amazing prospects who we expect big things from going forward.”

Whilst the event described it’s pay-per-view showing as another success, it attracted widespread criticism from many in the sporting world, and not for the first time.
The championship has drawn scrutiny in the past, and has often been labeled sexist, no more so than in 2016 after a promo video advertising the sport was slammed.
Nicola Miller of the Women in Sport charity led the criticism, commenting: “What does it say about a sport if the women must be sexualised in order to compete?"
However Chief Executive of the championship Shaun Donnelly has often been quick to back up his event’s ethos and morals.
He previously commented: “While I don't believe there's anything sexist about LFC I always find it funny that these stories are always accompanied by as many of our photos as can fit.
“'Oh, showing women in lingerie is sexist! Here's a photo. Isn't it awful? Here's another.'"

He had also previously sung the praises of the event, but insisted the fighting ‘isn’t nearly as brutal as UFC’ as many of the contestants are models and do not want to ‘destroy their looks’.
In 2016, he said: “The girls have to be able to move in the cage and protect themselves. LFC isn't nearly as brutal as a UFC fight, but there are black eyes and split lips.
“Ultimately some contestants are lingerie models, so they don't want to destroy their looks by beating each other to bloody pulps.”
