UFC beast Derrick Lewis in record, ‘vicious’ knockout victory
Every now and then Derrick Lewis likes to remind the world he can be the most terrifying man on the planet when he wants to be.
That’s the message he sent the UFC world on Sunday when he executed a filthy one-punch knockout of No. 2 ranked heavyweight Derrick Lewis in the UFC 185 Fight Night in Las Vegas.
Lewis now has four consecutive wins in the heavyweight division and his statement destruction of Blaydes puts him on a charge towards another potential title fight this year.
According to ESPN Stats, Lewis now has 12 career knockouts – equalling Vitor Belfort’s record for the most KO’s in the history of the fight promotion.

Lewis ended Blaydes with a crushing uppercut timed to perfection as Blaydes tried to sneak in for a takedown. The fight was over instantly.
Blaydes wobbled backwards briefly before falling over backwards.
In a scary sight, Lewis was able to land two more heavy punches to Blaydes’ face as he was motionless on the floor before the referee could jump in and stop the contest at the 1.26-minute mark of the second round.

Lewis was feeling the juice after the KO and paraded around the ring.
“I’m feeling all right,” he said after the decision was made official.
“The first round, second round, I couldn’t really get it going. I felt dead out there. That was the only punch I was waiting for the whole fight. The uppercut or the knee was going to land.”
Blaydes was eventually able to get back to his feet in time for the decision, but was clearly groggy in the minutes immediately after the contest.
The deadly power in Lewis’ punch left UFC stars and commentators stunned.
The Black Beast!!!!!! @Thebeast_ufc has the most power ever
Blaydes was out for a bit. He’s now sitting up. Seems confused. That was vicious stuff.

Lewis danced around the prospect of fighting light-heavyweight legend Jon Jones after the fight, instead calling out heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic.
