Paddy Pimblett injury was ‘much worse than realised’ says Molly McCann in update
Paddy Pimblett's injury following UFC 282 was far worse than initially realised – but his return to light training is just around the corner.
Pimblett's Next Generation MMA team-mate Molly McCann has offered an update on The Baddy's condition after he underwent full reconstruction of his ankle ligaments earlier in the year.
The surgery came after the 28-year-old (20-3) won his fourth consecutive UFC bout with a much-debated decision victory over Jared Gordon, with his return not yet booked.

"I feel like he had his cast off last week," McCann said after her own Octagon return was announced for UFC London in July.
"He's not been in the MMA gym too much because it's quite a far drive to get in but he's coming to strength and conditioning.
"He's just hungry, obviously the performance wasn't what he wanted it to be. He wants to just prove who he is. He had a sore foot going into it but none of us realised how bad the injury was that he sustained in the fight until after it."

"He's had like full ankle reconstruction of his ligaments, so that's heavy. I'm going to his wedding this Sunday and I think after that it's only a couple more weeks until he can weight bare and start his comeback.
"You can imagine when you win and people don't give you respect, or there is a big scrutiny on the fight.
"Paddy lives to silence people doesn't he so he just wants to shut them up. I believe you'll see a different animal in him because he'll have more mouths to close."
McCann's focus is on getting back to winning ways after her three-fight win streak was ended by Erin Blanchfield at UFC 281 in New York.
The 33-year-old (13-5) returns to face Julija Stoliarenko on July 22 at London's O2 Arena, for the second UK card of the year after Leon Edwards' title defence at UFC 286.
No. 5 ranked heavyweight Tom Aspinall will headline the event against No. 10 ranked Marcin Tybura, with tickets on sale from 10:00AM on Friday, May 26 via AXS and Ticketmaster.
