The nose of UFC star Joel Alvarez was left shattered after his brutal fight with Arman Tsarukyan with the fighter left covered in blood.
Alvarez was beaten via a technical knockout in the second round of his lightweight bout with Tsarukyan on the undercard of UFC Vegas 49 on Saturday night.
The Spanish fighter was left covered in blood and with an exploded nose following the defeat and took to social media to show off his gruesome battle scars.
Tsarukyan also pocketed an extra $50,000 on top of his fight purse after winning 'Performance of the Night' for his brutal victory.
Alvarez showed off his splattered nose on Instagram after the fight in a series of pictures which showed him covered in blood, in a post captioned: "Blood and Sand".
The pair had traded heavy blows during the fight before the Armenian fighter gained a crucial advantage after taking Alvarez to the floor.
After he landed a flurry of punches to Alvarez's head, the fight was stopped and Tsarukyan was declared the winner via technical knockout.

He has now won five consecutive UFC fights to take his professional mixed martial arts record to 18-2, whilst Alvarez now stands at 19-3.
Speaking after the fight, Tsarukyan said, via The Sun: “I like to surprise every one of my [opponents]. I wanted to show how I improved my striking, wrestling, I can do everything.
"It was my game plan to make him tired to choke him or a TKO. I did it and I’m very happy. I think I deserve a top 10 and get fights with a top fighter. I’m getting better everyday.”
Tsarukyan is now number 13 in the UFC lightweight rankings, with his only defeat in the UFC coming against Islam Makhachev.
Makhachev defeated Bobby Green with a first round TKO and Tsarukyan is now hoping for a rematch, adding: “It’s my goal [to face Islam Makhachev again].
“Because it’s going to be a good match. It’s going to be the greatest match because we are the best in our division. I think so.”
