MMA fighter calls himself ‘One Ball Wonder’ after rupturing testicle in training

MMA fighter Christian 'Hollywood' Lohsen has jokingly called himself the 'One Ball Wonder' after rupturing his testicle in training.

On Thursday, Lohsen, who is signed with the Professional Fighters League (PFL), took to Instagram to reveal the harrowing details of his injury, but the American was at least able to see the funny side of a painful ordeal.

"So last night was rough," he wrote, alongside a picture of him in a hospital bed.

"In a training accident I got my left testicle ruptured by a knee which led to it getting surgically removed, thank you to everyone last night that helped me get to the hospital. I’m fine home resting, surgery went well. Doc said I won’t lose testosterone or ability to have kids from this. If I lose the other one however it’s a different story so from now on if you hit me in my last testicle we aren’t friends."

It was the hashtags used by Lohsen that oozed hilarity though, adding #NoNutNovember, #OneBallWonder, #TookNoNutNovemberWayTooFar" to his post.

Lohsen, 26, has an MMA record of 9-2 after defeating Jonas Flok in his PFL debut in August, and in 2019 was on the UFC's radar as he took part in President Dana White’s Contender Series.

And despite his attempts to make light of his plight, he received floods of messages of sympathy and support.

"Oh my gosh man. Your sacrifices will be rewarded. They have to be," wrote UFC welterweight fighter 'Platinum' Mike Perry.

Another fellow fighter in Ben Saunders said "Sending you positivity in abundance," while promoted Dean Toole added "Sorry to hear about that!" alongside an emoji of praying hands.

A number of fans also praised Lohsen, coached by namesake David, for displaying such a positive attitude in adversity.

@gsreatest posted "Lmao the hashtags. Good attitude!" while @alyssa.did.it told him "You win with the hashtags."

@fowllanguage joked "Sorry to hear that my brotha , just don’t start calling yo self Lil Uno."

Lohsen's impressive win over Flok in the summer came via a decision after an intense three rounds at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Florida.

However, whilst the Deland native has pledged to fight on, his freak injury is likely to rule him out action for a considerable period of time.
