McGregor deletes post saying he’d snipe Gaethje ‘dead’ after the UFC star’s dig
Conor McGregor promised to “snipe” Justin Gaethje "dead" in a now deleted tweet.
Gaethje picked up the symbolic ‘Baddest Mother F***er belt to put himself in a good position to receive a shot at the UFC lightweight world championship. He emphatically dispatched McGregor’s former nemesis Dustin Poirier at UFC 291 with a picture perfect head kick.
This splendid knockout in Salt Lake City has resulted in him being linked with some huge fights. However, McGregor seemingly put himself at the front of the queue by calling out ‘The Highlight’ on social media, despite the fact he is expected to fight Michael Chandler before the end of the year.
But after Gaethje had some pot shots of his own at the Irishman, McGregor came roaring back on social media.

When informed by reporters McGregor had effectively laid down the challenge for Gaethje, the new BMF did not mince his words.
"I think he's turned me down six times,” Gaethje replied, bluntly. “Usually, you have to lose to fight him, so I don't know what's going on."

McGregor did not take too kindly to Gaethje’s post-fight interview. He instantly ventured back onto his Twitter page and carved out an equally savage response.
“The guy is about as smart as two planks,” the 35-year-old wrote, before opting to take down the tweet. “He is a one shotter for me. I snipe him dead in one single shot. And easily.”

As one of the team captains on the division’s ‘Ultimate Fighter’ series, McGregor was expected to fight opposing skipper Chandler. However, this bout was cast into doubt as UFC supremo Dana White recently confirmed McGregor had not re-entered the USADA drug testing pool, which is a mandatory requirement for UFC fighters.
After confirming McGregor was not in the pool, White replied: “We’ll see how that plays out,” White said. “They’re saying that now, but who knows. I don’t talk about s*** until s*** happens."
