Tonight’s UFC card is headlined by a top 15 heavyweight clash between fan-favourite Derrick Lewis and young up-and-comer Serghei Spivak. No7 ranked Lewis is currently in a two-fight rut after breaking the UFC record for most knockout wins (13) by stopping Chris Daukaus in December 2021.
The Black Beast was finished by Tai Tuivasa and Sergei Pavlovich in back-to-back contests earlier this year and is now hoping to get back on track with a win over Spivak. In contrast to Lewis, Spivak has won his last two fights against Greg Hardy and Augusto Sakai.
Having come on leaps and bounds since his disastrous debut against Walt Harris, Spivak is starting to build some momentum behind him and a win against Lewis would do a lot in cementing his place among the upper echelons of the division.
Date/venue
UFC Fight Night 215 is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 19 and is being held at the UFC Apex Center in Las Vegas.

Quotes
Derrick Lewis: “This year, I trained probably the most I’ve ever done for both of my last fights, and they didn’t go my way. I did everything the right way and it didn’t go my way. I don’t know. I still trained even harder for this fight. We’ll see how things go Saturday.
“I believe that I can get the job done, even in the later rounds. I’m looking forward to the fourth and the fifth round. I’m looking forward to a main event fight.”
Serghei Spivak: “I’m still Serghei, I’m still not going to go ahead of myself and say ‘it doesn’t matter what happens in this fight’.
“I’m not going to look over this opponent. I’m going to concentrate on him for now, and then after the win I can see what happens.
“Of course, I’m looking for the top 10. I really like training here in Vegas, I like the sparring partners here, I like the places where I can train here.
“A lot of the fights are here so I don’t have to always switch the climate and adjust to that. I like being here in Vegas.”
