Khabib’s manager thinks McGregor will change mind and agree Jake Paul fight

Khabib Nurmagomedov’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, has claimed that the Conor McGregor era is “finished”, and that the Irishman will soon resort to circus fights against the likes of “Jake Paul and the Kardashians.”

Abdelaziz is one of the most high-profile managers in the MMA landscape, representing the likes of Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Kamaru Usman and Khamzat Chimaev.

In a recent appearance on Mike Tyson’s ‘Hotboxin’ podcast, Abdelaziz, who had a professional record as an MMA fighter of 1-3, went for the former UFC two-weight champion.

The manager likened McGregor to a “high-end prostitute” and claimed “Conor hasn’t won in three years.”

"The McGregor thing is finished. McGregor now is going to be fighting Jake Paul, the Kardashians, he’s gonna fight chicks… That’s what’s going on.

“Now we have McGregor fighting Dustin Poirier. McGregor’s probably going to quit again, because he’s a quitter,’ Abdelaziz stated.

“He’s like a high-end prostitute. Now people want to go out on a date with him to show, ‘Hey, I have a pretty girl with me’. He’s the pretty girl and after you are with her, you can show other girls and say ‘Hey, I got this beautiful girl. You want to date me?’

“That means the fighters, they fight him, and they get his clout and this look of fighting Conor McGregor. But they don’t understand Conor McGregor hasn’t won in three years.’

“But you’re still making money when you fight Conor McGregor because he’s a draw. But how long is this going to last for?’

McGregor was defeated by long-time rival Poirier at UFC 257 in January earlier this year via second-round knockout.

Poirier’s victory levelled the score between the two men at one apiece, following McGregor’s 2014 victory via first-round knockout.

Both men have become dramatically different fighters since then and while McGregor has become one of the highest-earning athletes on the planet, Poirier has become a fan favourite and is undoubtedly one of the UFC’s pound-for-pound best.

UFC 264 takes place on July 10 at the T-Mobile Arena in Nevada and is shaping up to be a brilliant night of fights.

Alongside McGregor vs. Poirier III, a welterweight clash between Gilbert Burns and Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson is slated to feature in the co-main event slot.

Sean O’Malley and Kevin Lee are also expected to make their highly anticipated returns, facing Louis Smolka and Sean Brady respectively, and disgraced former NFL player Greg Hardy will make his ninth walk to the UFC octagon against fan favourite Tai Tuivasa in a heavyweight showdown.
