Jake Paul has been accused of making a U-turn on a fight with ex-UFC star Mike Perry.

YouTuber Paul has enjoyed an impressive boxing career to date, seeing off the likes of Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren in the ring. And Perry has now claimed he was due to be the next former UFC star to take to the ring against Paul, sharing an alleged signed contract for a fight next month.

Perry, 31, won seven of his 15 UFC bouts and lost eight, including a submission to Conor McGregor's former opponent Donald Cerrone back in 2018.

Cerrone himself expressed an interest in a boxing match and although Paul said he wasn't interested, Perry in fact called out Cowboy for a rematch in the boxing ring.

But after failing to get a response, he turned his attention to Paul, claiming: "I signed a contract to fight @jakepaul but he changed his mind."

The American then uploaded a screenshot of the proposed contract which had details for an eight-round fight with Paul on February 18. The location of the fight was not disclosed but it was allegedly set at a weight limit of 185lbs, with Perry insisting he would 'easily' beat Paul.

Perry's last UFC bout came in a defeat to Daniel Rodriguez in April 2021 but he has since entered the world of bare knuckle fighting.

He added: "I fought a 27-3 pro boxer, I am currently 3-0 in the last two years as a boxer. I am a boxer and can beat any boxer/fighter at 175-185. Give me a real boxing match and I prove it. Cuz we know they not stepping in @bareknucklefc with me. ASAP too!"

Perry has hit the headlines in the past after brawling with opponent Julian Lane at a BKFC event, while he also bizarrely called out female UFC fighter Paige VanZant.

Paul is yet to respond to the claims as he weighs up his next opponent amid continued links with Tommy Fury after two scheduled fights fell through.

The YouTube star even told Fury's promoter Frank Warren that he was willing to travel to the UK to fight in February. Warren also claimed discussions between the two camps have been positive, insisting: "We will get it over the line."

Warren added: "It’s a life changing money fight for [Tommy] and obviously he wants it. It was on, then he couldn’t get into the States which was a problem. But we’ll get it on, we’re really determined to make it happen. All sides are really good on getting it over the line."
