Elon Musk showcases MMA skills in preparation for Mark Zuckerberg showdown
Twitter and Tesla owner Elon Musk has ramped up preparations ahead of a proposed MMA fight against Mark Zuckerberg. The two tech moguls are set to face each other in the octagon after trading comments via their own social media platforms.
Rumours of a fight started when Musk Tweeted that he was “up for a cage fight” to which Zuckerberg posted a screenshot of the tweet with the caption “send me location”. Musk responded with “Vegas Octagon” and the pair have since been pictured training ahead of the fight.
UFC boss Dana White has also weighed in on the bout speaking to TMZ Sports. In a recent interview he claimed that it would be “the biggest fight ever in the history of the world,” and “it triples” Floyd Mayweather’s record-breaking fight with Conor McGregor.
Until recently it was Zuckerberg who held the advantage after frequently posting his MMA training sessions on Instagram. One post claimed in the caption that he “won some medals” in his first jiu jitsu tournament.
However, it is Musk who has been stepping up his preparations ahead of a fight in The Octagon. Popular podcast host Lex Fridman shared a photo of the 52-year-old slamming the black belt jiu jitsu fighter to the ground.
“I’m extremely impressed with his strength, power, and skill, on the feet and on the ground,” Lex said via his Twitter account. “It was epic. It’s really inspiring to see Elon and Mark doing martial arts, but I think the world is served far better if they train martial arts but not fight in the cage.
“That said, as Elon says, the most entertaining outcome is the most likely… I’m there for them, no matter what.”

Musk is not the only fighter who has enjoyed the tutorship of Fridman. Zuckerberg has also appeared on his podcast where the pair took part in jiu jitsu training.
As excitement builds ahead of the all-star clash between the billionaires, not everyone is keen to see the fight happen. Speaking to the U.S. Sun, Elon’s dad Errol said: “The thing is if this crazy fight goes ahead, if Elon beats this guy, Elon will be called a bully, being so much heavier and taller, while if he loses the humiliation would be total.
“It’s a no-win situation for Elon. Elon loses if he wins and loses if he loses. Wins, he’s a bully. Loses, he’s a loser. I think Elon has got himself into a difficult situation as a result of high school behaviour. They both have.”
