Conor McGregor’s crazy body transformation sparks four drug tests in eight weeks

UFC star Conor McGregor has bulked up so much in the last few months that he has been drug tested four times already this year.

The Notorious began building more muscle after the awful leg break he sustained against Dustin Poirier in their trilogy fight last July.

And it seems to have worked, with McGregor now sporting a ripped physique as he edges ever closer to a return to the octagon.

However, McGregor's new body has also caught the eye of the drug testers who have reportedly been firmly on the Irishman's case.

According to The Sun, the 33-year-old fighter has been drug tested four times by USADA in the last eight weeks following his huge transformation.

Such news will not come as much of a surprise to UFC commentator Joe Rogan, who predicted that the drug testers would drop in on the former UFC lightweight king after he shared pictures of himself looking jacked on Instagram.

During an episode of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast last December, Rogan joked: "That’s him now, super jacked.

"USADA is going to take a visit to him real soon. It’s a weird picture.

"He’s definitely jacked but it looks to me he’s in the middle of lifting. If you see a guy's body in the middle of lifting it’s a little deceptive. He still looks great."

McGregor said last November that his time spent in the gym using weights have seen him bulk up to an impressive 86kg.

The star has continued to post updates on his physique on Instagram, showing off his chiselled body to his 44.2million followers.

But fans shouldn't be concerned about McGregor's ability to make the weight in the lightweight division, with head coach John Kavanagh confident all will be fine when he returns to the octagon.

He told Fox Sports: "I don't think it will be all that difficult, to be honest. He has made some pretty dramatic weight cuts in the past.

"155lbs seems to suit his frame, at the moment yeah light-heavyweight he is more suited towards but by the summertime when he is ready to return, the weight will be back down again.

"The physical stage of recovery is pretty much complete now, you have seen your posts himself.

"He has been enjoying himself over Christmas but he is ready to get back to that serious side of training and get ready for another contest."

McGregor is expected to return to UFC in April, with Nate Diaz, Tony Ferguson and Charles Oliveira all in the frame as possible opponents.
