Conor McGregor has rejected Dustin Poirier’s proposal for a trilogy fight with a brutal response.

The Notorious has been looking for a way back into the Octagon after getting knocked out by his rival at UFC 257 in January.

But the pair quickly shared messages about a trilogy bout, having a win each after the Irishman’s win in 2014.

With Poirier announcing a third fight for July 10th, McGregor reportedly responded by saying he would “rip this game a new a******”.

The UFC star’s talks, though, were put in danger of collapse over a $500,000 donation to the American’s charity by his opponent which has not reportedly arrived.

And the 32-year-old has now performed a complete U-turn on the trilogy bout on social media.

Writing to his nearly 600,000 followers on Twitter, Poirier called for the third fight to be at the heavier 170lb welterweight class, having fought at featherweight in 2014 and lightweight this year.

“Lets do it at 170lbs. 3 fights 3 different weight classes,” the 32-year-old wrote.

But McGregor simply replied: “No”.

Prior to UFC 257, McGregor said he would donate $500,000 to Poirier's charity though the Diamond has suggested that money has never arrived.

McGregor had said he was waiting plans for where the money would go before making the transfer.

Though the Irishman appears to have been fed up with the war of the words, and hit out at Poirier, insisting their fight on July 10 is now off.
