Conor McGregor has shared a heartfelt post mourning the loss of his dog Hugo, with the UFC star saying he is heartbroken at parting ways with his "closest companion".
McGregor revealed the news of Hugo's death on Instagram to his 42.7million followers with a number of pictures of the pet with his family.
Hugo could be seen accompanying the 33-year-old in the gym and out on runs, while there was also a sweet image of his first-born son, Conor Jr, and his daughter, Croia, taking him for a walk.
The caption read: "So heart broken to say my dog Hugo has passed away.
"He was with me all the way, my closest companion. From sleeping on a bed frame without a mattress to everything else that came after.
"Thank you for all the work put in alongside me to get this life correct for our family. All the love and cuddles we will miss forever and ever our Hugo!
"Gutted. RIP the best boy Hugo McGregor."

Messages of support flooded in, with ex-Ireland international footballer Robbie Keane writing: "I know how you feel pal."
His training partner Dillion Danis commented: "Sorry brother he will be missed."
McGregor shared another post with a video of the canine captioned: "We got there in the end my boy."
And the MMA fighter also uploaded an array of pictures of Hugo to his Instagram story from over the years.
The snaps dated back to 2011 when he was just a tiny puppy and McGregor was still in the early stages of his career.
The pair certainly seemed inseparable. One video showed McGregor speaking to his fans before his daily 10km run, with Hugo by his side ready to set off too.
Another was of the animal running alongside his owner in a very well behaved manner.
The final image was fittingly McGregor and Hugo tucked up in bed together as he now lays to rest.
