Wimbledon star Skupski’s coach to ditch him for Ibiza trip despite making semis

Highlights from day 10 of Wimbledon

Wimbledon ace Neal Skupski revealed his coach and brother has a holiday “conundrum” after booking a flight to Ibiza on the same day as today’s (Thursday) men’s doubles semi-finals. The Liverpool fan and his Dutch partner Wesley Koolhof will face Rohan Bopanna of India and Aussie Matthew Ebden in the last four.

But his brother Ken – who is also his coach – is due to fly to the Med for a family holiday. The No 1 seed said: “Ken is in a bit of a conundrum because he is going on holiday to Ibiza. Wimbledon has gone back a week, and he didn’t check the dates before he booked it.

“I said when are you leaving, and he said: ‘I might have to stay’, so we will see what he does. He wouldn’t be partying. He is going with the three kids.

“He will need a holiday after that himself. It is up to him. He will be there no matter what, on the end of my phone, watching my matches.”
