Wimbledon ballboy ruins point as Broady copies Man City ace – Things missed
Day Four at Wimbledon featured big wins for British duo Katie Boulter and Liam Broady before Andy Murray’s mega clash with Stefanos Tsitsipas. However, Express Sport were able to pick up a number of things you may have missed while on the grounds at SW19.
Ball boy drops ball
It’s always an unfortunate scenario when a ball kid takes centre stage but that was the case during Liam Broady’s match against Casper Ruud. Broady was going through a tough spell of the match in the second set as he was 4-1 down.
And his momentum was disrupted midway through a point when a ball kid dropped a ball out of his hands. The umpire called for play to be stopped and the point was replayed due to the disruption.
It didn’t matter in the end as Broady was able to go on and win the match in an epic five-set thriller.
Broady copies Grealish
Eagle-eyed viewers would have recognised Broady’s celebrations after the match, particularly those who are big fans of Manchester City. The British No 5 held his fingers in his ears in a carbon copy of Jack Grealish’s celebrations for City.
Broady did something similar at last year’s Wimbledon when he came from behind to beat Diego Schwartzman. And he even got a response from Grealish at the time, who said: “What a guy! Can’t wait for tomorrow!! You got all our support bro!!”
Shot of the tournament?
Lorenzo Musetti has gone under the radar in this year’s Championships, but he certainly caught the eye of the lucky few around Court 14 today. The Italian was serving to go 4-1 up in the third set against Jaume Munar when the pair traded blows at the net.
Both were sent wide before Munar forced his opponent to run to the baseline with his back to play before the Italian pulled off an incredible winner to leave the crowd stunned. More shots like that and Musetti will be a big danger for anyone in the men’s draw.

Sunny weather catching some out
It was a miserable start to the week at Wimbledon with rain wrecking the schedule the All England Club having to stock up on umbrellas. But Thursday was the first day of the tournament without any disruptions due to weather.
However, some were seemingly caught unaware on just how sunny it would be as one patron was seen having to use a Wimbledon bag as a makeshift hat. He was snapped sitting in the blaring sun taking in the tennis without a care in the world and you almost have to admire his creativity and dedication to the cause.
Kontaveit pleaded to not retire
Anett Kontaveit officially waved farewell to her career on the singles court after her defeat to Marie Bouzkova and she has revealed some of her fellow tour players tried talking her out of retiring.
“It’s really sweet that they’re trying,” Kontaveit said. “A lot of people tried. But, these decisions, because I cannot play without pain pretty much the whole match, it was something that of course I considered for a very long time. But it was a very difficult decision, and once I decide something big like this, I don’t usually start doubting it.”
