What channel is Novak Djokovic vs. Rafael Nadal? TV coverage, live stream for French Open semifinals
Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic are two of the greatest tennis players to ever take the court.
And for the 58th time, the two will go head-to-head; this time, with a French Open final appearance on the line.
Djokovic, the current world No. 1, is coming off a hard-fought win in four sets over Italy’s Matteo Berrettini while world No. 3 Nadal also took down Argentina’s Diego Schwartzman in four sets.
The Djokovic-Nadal rivalry is the most prolific in men’s tennis history during the Open Era. Djokovic has a slight edge over his left-handed counterpart at 29-28. However, Nadal, the “King of Clay,” has won more French Opens than any men’s tennis player (13) and holds the edge 7-1 at Roland Garros. If Nadal advances, he will have a shot at the all-time Grand Slam record. He is currently tied with Roger Federer at 20 titles.
But first, Nadal and Djokovic will battle it out on the red clay. Who gets the edge this time, and earns a trip to the French Open final? Here’s what you need to watch the two square off on Friday.
What channel will carry Novak Djokovic vs. Rafael Nadal?
NBC will continue to provide its U.S. coverage of the French Open on Friday when it shows the semifinal matchup between Djokovic and Nadal, while TSN3 will carry the matchup of the tennis legends in Canada. The 11:30 p.m. ET clash can also be found on the Tennis Channel.
For those who want to stream the match, Peacock, NBC’s streaming platform, will provide the stream of the matchup, as well as fuboTV.
When is the French Open finals?
The winner of Djokovic vs. Nadal will head to the French Open final to face either Alexander Zverev or Stefanos Tsitsipas. That final is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Sunday, and will also be broadcast on NBC.
Djokovic last won the French Open back in 2016, his only win at Roland Garros, while Nadal has won the French Open in each of the past five years. He has 13 wins in Paris, the most at any Grand Slam tournament in men’s tennis history.
What is the prize for the 2021 French Open winner?
Whichever tennis player comes away with the top spot at the French Open will not only walk away with a Grand Slam win, but a prize of approximately $1.69 million. The runner-up will receive just over $900,000. All four semifinalists have already ensured they will receive just over $450,000 for making it this far in the French Open.
