It’s a crowded world in the sports influencer market, according to Paige Spiranac. And she doesn’t sound too impressed by it.
Taking part in an ‘Ask Me Anything’ with her 3.7million Instagram followers, she appeared to throw shade at the sporting influencers who have followed her path.
‘They say that imitation is the greatest form of flattery, so, I am proud to be inspiration for all of these women,’ Spiranac said.
‘I mean, they’ve seen me be successful and they know that if they copy exactly what I’m doing, or follow in my footsteps and the exact path that I have created and built for myself, that they will also be successful.
‘That’s pretty cool, and it shows how powerful my brand has been that if they do copy everything they will also be successful.’

Her quotes came shortly before she copied Jan Stephenson’s infamous bathtub picture
Intriguingly, Spiranac’s comments come as she replicated a famous picture by Jan Stephenson by posing in a bathtub nude, covered by golfballs.
As she shared the picture on her Instagram story, the 30-year-old Spiranac wrote: ‘Channeling the queen Jan Stephenson. Now SHE is the true OG’.
Stephenson was a professional on the women’s tour from Australia, who made her debut in 1974.
She won three majors on the women’s tour – the Peter Jackson Classic in 1981, the LPGA Championship in 1982 and the US Women’s championship the following year.
Including her major titles, Stephenson won 16 tournaments on the LPGA.
As for Spiranac, her role as the ‘OG Insta golf girl’, as she has in her Instragram bio, has indeed paved the way for others.
