Novak Djokovic vs Carlos Alcaraz LIVE – Wimbledon history on the line in final

It’s the men’s final that everyone was eventually hoping to see. Yes a Brit would have been great to see and dream runs from the likes of Chris Eubanks and Roman Safiullin were great for the tournament. But the top two seeds – who have been a level above the rest of the tournament – were always the favourites for a competitive final.

It’s what fans ultimately want to see against Djokovic, who remains unbeaten for a decade on Centre Court. Alcaraz should be the man to provide that test with the Spaniard barely being challenged at this year’s Wimbledon.

He won Queen’s ahead of this year’s British slam, meaning he’s won 11 games on the bounce on grass. It previously wasn’t a surface Alcaraz thrived on earlier in his career, but the 20-year-old has found out how to get his best form on grass.

But Djokovic remains the king of Wimbledon and is chasing Roger Federer’s men’s all-time record of eight titles. It’s set to be a blockbuster event on Centre Court and Express Sport is in place to provide live updates from the men’s final.

Good afternoon!

Hello and welcome to Express Sport’s live coverage from Wimbledon for the men’s final with Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz set to go head-to-head in the match-up everyone wanted to see.

The top two seeds in the men’s draw have been a level above the rest of the competition this year with history on the line for both players.

For Djokovic, he has a chance of not only extending his Grand Slam tally to 24, he can also match Roger Federer’s record of eight Wimbledon titles.

Meanwhile, Alcaraz would become the youngest men’s Wimbledon champion since Boris Becker won the title as a 17-year-old back in 1985.

It’s set to be a blockbuster clash on Centre Court this afternoon. And Express Sport will be on hand to provide live coverage from the grounds! Stay tuned for updates throughout.
