Nick Kyrgios speaks out on if he’ll ever join I’m a Celebrity TV show
Nick Kyrgios has told the producers of ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ to forget about approaching him as he hit out at the famous television show. The no-nonsense tennis star hasn’t held back when asked for his assessment of the programme, suggesting that the majority of cast members are only interested in the money it has to offer.
Kyrgios’ surprise slamming of the show came during an Instagram Q&A as he lived up to his ruthless reputation.
He was asked by one intrigued tennis fan if he would ever consider going on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here and his response and his response did not disappoint.
To which he responded: “No, people who go on that show tend not to be celebrities, anyway,’ the tennis star explained, before adding, [the cast do the show as] an excuse to get money.
“They take themselves a bit too seriously because they are well known in Australia.”

The Australian version of the show is currently being filmed in South Africa and Kyrgios’ comments appeared to act as a swipe at some of the cast members that will be part of this year’s production.
Reality stars Domineca Calerco, who is better known for appearing on Married at First Sight, was in among the celebrities taking on the challenge.
Below Deck’s Aesha Scott, chef Anna Polyviou and boxer Harry Garside, who won gold for Australia at the Olympic Games are also throwing themselves into the mix.
In typical Kyrgios fashion, the tennis star also posted his response accompanied by a picture of him posing next to a private jet.
It’s understood this year’s contestants will earn between £18,000 and £97,000 to appear on the show.
Furthermore, the winner will also net £54,000 to donate to a charity of their choice.
The show does have history with tennis players after Martina Navratilova came second to Joe Swash in series eight of the UK’s version of the programme.
There was a big shock during this week’s episodes of I’m A Celebrity in Australia when former national team rugby star Nick ‘The Honey Badger’ Cummins was bitten by a snake.
The 35-year-old was sticking his hand into a box – which he could not see into – when the snake latched onto his arm.
Although the snake was supposed to be harmless, it locked its jaws around Cummins’ hand before wrapping itself around his arm.
Cummins was thankfully okay despite the bleeding and went on to win 10 stars from a possible 13.
