Nick Kyrgios reveals his unmatched competitive streak
Nick Kyrgios has never been short on honesty, and he proved that yet again after his enthralling 6-4, 4-6, 3-6, 6-1, 9-7 victory over 21st seed Ugo Humbert.
The Australian suffered a scary fall during the match, but thankfully he was able to get back on his feet and press on to victory.

Kyrgios did not compete in any tour events after bowing out of the Australian Open at the hands of Dominic Thiem, but he showed no signs of racquet rust.
When quizzed on whether he felt like he’d missed the aspect of competition, the 26-year-old provided a refreshingly honest answer.
“I compete every day,” said Kyrgios in his post-match press conference.
“I compete when I play checkers, I compete when I play Call of Duty, I compete when I play basketball.

“I get that thrill with anything I do, and my friends back home can definitely vouch for that.”
The Canberra native is well-regarded for being a showman on the court, whether that be with his mercurial shot selection or even asking a fan on where he should place his next serve.
His stock with fans has undoubtedly risen, as he cheekily revealed just how much the crowd at the All England Club love him.
“Yesterday, the crowd was thanking me,” Kyrgios said.

“They’re like ‘Thank you Nick for keeping us so entertained’, and I’m like ‘I’m doing my best’.
“So I’ll continue to go out there and try and give them a show, and just try and bring that different aspect to tennis.
“But obviously going out there, and playing Wimbledon, on court one, packed crowd against one of the best players in the world at the moment, one of the most in-form players, it’s a lot of fun.
“I enjoy going out there.”
Kyrgios will look to keep his competitive streak alive on Friday at 12:30am (AEST), when he takes on Italian Gianluca Mager in the second round at Wimbledon.
