Murray shares video with ‘stinky’ shoes as he gives update on wedding ring hunt
Tennis star Andy Murray has made it well known that he has been on the hunt for his wedding ring, after attaching it to his shoes which he went on to lose whilst in California this week.
However, after understandably falling into the ‘bad books’ with wife Kim, the former British and world No 1 has given an all-important update on his search via a humorous video posted on his Instagram page.
The post – that was uploaded late last night – included Murray discussing the lengths he had gone to during the hunt to trace down his ring’s whereabouts, after having to call his California hotel and speak with security.
He also began by thanking all of his fans and followers that shared his initial post about the lost ring and shoes as he said: “Hi everyone, I hope you are all doing well.
“Just wanted to send a quick message to say huge thanks for all the messages and also to everyone for sharing the story about the shoes and the wedding ring.”
The Scottish star’s first post on the search came yesterday after revealing that following a training session at Indian Wells, he was forced to leave his sweat-sodden shoes outside to dry in an effort to not ‘stink out’ his hotel room, so left them underneath his car.
When he returned the morning after the shoes – which had his ring attached to them – were gone, forcing him to buy a different pair he had never worn before for the tournament, whilst also being ringless.

However, Murray did have some good news in his update last night, revealing the shoes, and more importantly the wedding ring were back in his possession.
He added: “I had to make a few calls today and chat to the security at the hotel and everything, and a little update for everyone, would you believe it… they still absolutely stink but the shoes are back, the wedding ring is back and I am back in the good books. Let's go!”
The two-time Wimbledon champion will kick off his Indian Wells journey in the early hours of tomorrow morning, as he takes on world No 51 Adrian Mannarino in the opening round of the event.
The California tournament is one of only two masters events that Murray has never won, however after not winning a masters tournament since Wimbledon in 2016 the Scot’s chances of breaking his Indian Wells duck this year look slim.
