Emma Raducanu returns to action for the second round of the Australian Open, following her victory over US star Sloane Stephens. Today, Britain’s hopeful is back on the court to face Danka Kovinic, who is currently ranked 98th in the world standings. Express Sport is on hand to bring you all the action live, as it happens from Melbourne, with all eyes on Raducanu as she bids to add to the trophy cabinet and place the Australian Open title alongside her US Open gong.

After defeating fellow Grand Slam winner Stephens in her opening showdown, Raducanu opened up on the “adversity” she had to overcome in order to navigate the first hurdle.

Defeating Stephens 6-0 2-6 6-1 in one hour and 45 minutes, Raducanu later said: “Both me and Sloane really put everything out there and it was a very high-quality match. I’m very happy to come through against such a great champion.

“It was a tough match-up for a first round, I knew there was going to be some very long rallies and I was having to work extremely hard for my points.

“I was very pleased. Coming out in the first set I thought I played some very good tennis with very little unforced errors and then of course there was going to be some adversity.”
