Tennis superstar Emma Raducanu has revealed safety concerns at her own home after declaring a stalker has visited it on three occasions. The 19-year-old insisted she wants to move to a new house with improved security after Amrit Magar travelled to her parents’ Bromley home where she stayed in November.

Magar allegedly asked strangers for Raducanu’s address and, once he found it, left notes for the teenager.

One note said she ‘deserved love’ along with a bouquet of flowers.

Raducanu’s parents confronted him on one occasion, and the 35-year-old claimed he was delivering the gifts to someone else.

Magar returned to Raducanu’s home several days later to give her a map he had constructed to showcase the 23-mile distance he had walked from his home in Edgware.

He was back just two days later, decorating a tree in her garden with Christmas lights and stealing a trainer from her porch, thinking it belonged to the US Open champion.

The trainer was actually owned by her father Ian, and he recognised Magar after seeing him in doorbell footage.

Mr Raducanu immediately informed the police of his presence and even followed him.

“I received a notification on my phone from the Nest doorbell,” Mr Raducanu said in a statement.

“It said someone was at the front of the house.

“I went outside and could see a male stood on the pavement.

“He began running away.”

Magar was swiftly arrested and when asked about the trainer in his bag, he said he ‘wanted a souvenir’.

In a statement read to the court, Raducanu insisted she was concerned about leaving the home on her own.

When asked about the ordeal ahead of the Australian Open, Raducanu said: “Since all this has happened, I have felt very creeped out.

“I feel very apprehensive if I go out, especially if I am on my own.

“I feel like my freedom has been taken away from me. I am constantly looking over my shoulder. I feel on edge and worried this could happen again. I don’t feel safe in my own home, which is where I should feel safest.”

She added that it had left her wanting to move as she fears Magar will return as he knows her address.

On Friday, Magar was found guilty of stalking at Bromley magistrates’ court and is set to be sentenced next month.
